This department posts employment opportunities with the Texas Workforce Commission. We periodically hire Probation Officers, Clerks, and Counselors / LCDC Counselors. Current Openings:


The Caldwell, Comal, and Hays County Community Supervision and Corrections Department is accepting resumes and applications for a position of an Adult Probation Officer.† All applicants must have a Bachelorís Degree conferred by an institution of higher education accredited by an accrediting organization recognized by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board; and unless the Bachelorís Degree is in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Corrections, Counseling, Human Services Development, Law, Law Enforcement, Police Science, Pre-Law, Public Administration, Rehabilitative Studies, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, the person must have a minimum of one year of graduate study in one of those fields or a minimum of one year experience in full time casework, counseling, or community or group work. A copy of school transcript must accompany application however a certified copy is required prior to employment. A Probation Officer cannot be employed as a peace officer or work as a reserve or volunteer peace officer, cannot be currently on community supervision or parole or serving a sentence for a criminal offense.† A Probation Officer monitors and documents a defendantís compliance with Court ordered conditions providing a service to the Courts, community and the defendants. Job duties include but are not limited to Office/Field work (Home Visits) with face to face contact with defendants, Court duties/testifying, conducting assessments including alcohol and drug screenings, maintaining case files, abiding by CJAD standards/department policies and transporting defendants as needed. A valid driverís license and motor vehicle liability insurance is required. Final applicants must pass a background investigation and urinalysis test.
